Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have taken Elle Decor inside their stunning California ranch home, and we're blown away by how beautiful the place is!

The couple bought the 26-acre Hidden Valley property in 2009, and while De Rossi thought DeGeneres would take five years to renovate the house, she did it in just one. "It was shocking!" DeGeneres designed the pad with Jay Holman and Cliff Fong, and she tells the mag she wanted "a feeling of country and yet a relaxed sophistication." Portia added, "Ellen likes things to be a little more natural and rustic."

"I got a very thorough education in mid-20th-century French furniture within the first weeks of our dating," Portia says of Ellen's obsession with home design. "I can only change the furniture so much and I get bored," DeGeneres says. "Then I need a new structure to work on."

The estate belonged to actor William Powell in the 1920s, and later it became a monastery, then a rehab center. DeGeneres said she thinks part of the film Seabiscuit was shot there. "When we bought the place, it was a professional horse facility," she recalls. "But it was really not taken care of."
