Red Hot Chilli Peppers Rocker Chad Smith Buys Venice Home For $2.75 Million

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith recently bought this $2.755 million home in Venice, and while it's clearly not his primary residence, it's still pretty nice!

The brand new 2,800-square-foot pad has three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, and from the open interior to the clean lines, this is every modern enthusiast's dream! There are concrete floors and aluminum-framed sliding glass doors and windows, but the lush lawn and trees make it seem more like a residence and less like an office building. But maybe a little bit of color would be nice?

A double-sided fireplace separates the living room and the kitchen, and the ceilings range from 11 to 25 feet. A floating staircase takes you to the bedrooms upstairs, and the master suite has a private terrace. There isn't a pool, but there is a decent sized yard with a fire pit, and the home is pretty private.

Still, we don't expect to see Smith and his family here any time soon -- remember, they purchased a mansion in the Point Dume area of Malibu in May 2006 for $8.6 million. We're guessing that one has a bit more space for the couple and their four kids...
